Kestrel 1000 Pocket Wind Meter

The Kestrel 1000 is the option for those who want a multi-functional pocket wind meter that can be used in sailing and boating, in aviation, crane operators, and anywhere that requires accurate, reliable wind measurements.  The interface is an easy, user-friendly design.

The Kestrel 1000 is our most basic meter.  If all you need is wind measurements, this our least expensive meter. Every meter we sell has the wind features of the Kestrel 1000.  The hard slide-on case makes it durable to throw in your gear bag with no worries.

It can track maximum and average wind speeds along with current readings and allows you to choose measurement units to suit your application including knots, meters per second, kilometres per hour, miles per hour, feet per minute and the Beaufort scale.

Every Kestrel Meter features a large, 1″ impeller mounted on a sapphire jewel bearing, which means it starts rotating with the slightest puff of air, 0.6 mph to be exact! And this unique impeller is user-replaceable, too, which means it can easily be replaced if it is damaged or worn.

If your application demands regular calibration, simply pop in a new impeller and the Kestrel Wind Meter is restored to like-new factory calibration standards. The Kestrel 1000 can easily be switched between mph, km/h, ft/min, m/s, knots and Beaufort.
